Amazing Raise

Amazing Raise

Our goal was to RAISE community awareness for the disease, RAISE kindness levels in our communities and RAISE funds to support the research that gives hope to the many people in BC who are struck with cancer every year.  We also wanted to pay tribute to Iluminada Bicol (Aileen’s mother) who passed away with Multiple Myeloma and give back to the many doctors and nurses who took care of her during her illness.

In July 2007, L.I.F.E.works organized a “Fun” Raiser called the “Amazing Raise” to support BC Cancer Foundation.  A race that brought 80 participants together in which teams raced to complete “Random Acts of Kindness” challenges throughout the lower mainland.  Over 400 unsuspecting people were hit with Kind acts, 115 lbs of food donated to the Hobbit house and over $14,500 raised to support BC Cancer foundation research and patient care programs.
